With CEREC® technology, crowns are completed in the same day, in one visit. The CEREC® technology utilizes an infrared camera that takes 3D images of the damaged tooth and sends these images directly to our CEREC machine. A crown is milled inside the machine in the office, providing us with the ability to complete the crown procedure the same day.

CEREC® stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. It’s a mouthful, so we just refer to it as CEREC® or same-day crowns. CEREC® is a system that allows us to use computer-aided design (CAD) technology to design a crown and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) to fabricate it right in our office for better, faster results.
